“You wrote about nutrition.”
“You were going to share your experience of what happened and what you had to deal with when you confronted your doctor.”
“Then you changed it to deal with why you must be so run down. You keep getting these colds.”
“Explain what happened to me, I don’t understand. Where’s the post on nutritional?”
“I looked at some blogs.”
“Ok. We’re getting somewhere. Then what?”
“One of them wanted to see my butterfly silk paintings.”
“Why didn’t you just send them an email?”
“I needed something a bit different for n. Nutritional seemed a bit boring, not really me.. the first post of the second half of the challenge should be a bit different.”
“Did you check the dictionary?”
“Yes, but nothing jumped out. Then I thought you might listen to me if I explained that I really wanted to show this picture.”
“Of course I’ll listen.”
“So can I?”
“Can you what?”
“Can I post a painting of a butterfly I did some time ago instead of my post about nutritional, even though I can’t come up with any link to n?”
“Hmm nutritional or arty butterfly painting? Tough choice.”
“Wasn’t that clear enough? Yes you can.”
How often do you have a negotiation with yourself to justify something you want to do?
There’s a lot of n’s in Antennae and butterfly’s have antennae so does that count?
ne go ti a tion
‘a negotiating; arrangement.’
Now negotiate your way around many n’s on the AtoZchallenge.
WOW! Thanks! Lovely comment to wake up to! thanks Donna x
This is the best post I’ve read all night! Thanks so much for posting the picture. That’s a gorgeous painting!
and all because you said ‘I bet the butterflies you paint are beautiful. Any pics?’
Huge thanks Dana. Your comment means a lot. xx
Your conversation with yourself made me LOL! I certainly negotiate with myself a lot, like “Just one more Facebook game and I promise I’ll write. Please?” or “If I do just half of my alotted sit-ups today, I’ll do the rest tomorrow.”
Oh, and lovely butterfly!
A to Z Blogger
Glad to have provided some humour today and glad you like the butterfly.
I love this post! I read captivated the whole way through, love the picture and the inner (outer?) monologue. And in answer to your question: I am the master rationaliser. I can rationalise anything if I need to. So you’re a woman after my own heart, hats off! There are definitely enough ‘n’s in Antannae to make this post relevant. N-ongratulations! xx
Thanks Nicky. I like it when I get a ‘hats off!!’ Very pleased that this one’s gone down well.
It was truly inspired!
great post. You grabbed me from the start of the conversation. It was real. You showed us all a piece of ourselves.
Who does not want to transform like a butterfly?
Thanks Teresa. This one seemed to be liked a lot. It gives me hope for my dialogue in my novels.
