My fiction writing now has tons of dialogue in it but not much that tells you who’s speaking. I’m sure all my dialogue is like me talking to myself.. ho hum.. one day I’ll get it better, that’s what editing’s for surely.
Dream Gardener, a novel by me.
What do you want to become? Who’s dreams are we living? Do we really choose our opportunities or are they already whispers on the wind? Elizabeth grew up in a family of Doctors dreaming of being a Gardener yet followed the family tradition of becoming a Doctor. Will she ever follow her dream? There’s a mystery around her life choices that she may never know.
What inspired this novel?
Ever put your name into a search engine? I did and realised rumour had it that I once went out with Keanu Reeves, was a famous photographer and had numerous other exciting lives. Or maybe my namesakes did. The original idea for the novel was different than the draft that came out because of the amount of planning I’d have needed to do for the much more complicated version. The premise is the same, if one of us has a wish could someone else fulfill it if we had the same name. Oops.. a slight spoiler there.. You’ll have forgotten by the time these novels ever make it over the editing line.. Whose dreams are we living and can we fulfill our own when, in some cases, our families expect us to fulfill theirs.
