Kissing’s simple isn’t it? Let it happen naturally and enjoy. Now try writing about that very kiss. I’m not even going to try. Well I might if you let me breath for a minute. Let me catch my breath and steady myself as I fell into that one a bit quickly. See? I stumble even at the thought of writing about a kiss however innocent and enjoyable. I get embarrassed thinking about it.
As you can guess there’s not much of this in my novels. How any of you manage it I’ll never know. It’s not in me to write about the more personal side of relationships. For me they kiss then have children then live happily ever after.. ok not quite that quick and I do have bedroom scenes but it’s for different reasons.. hmm.. Yeah I’ve even got myself intrigued by that comment..
Don’t get excited or your hopes up, in ‘Dream Gardener’ there’s a reason why Amir wants Elizabeth kept in the bedroom. He blindfolds her and kisses her, that’s all. Then when the blindfold comes off the room’s completely transformed which is what’s needed for the storyline.
When I read kisses as written by some of you I’m completely transfixed. I know I’ll never write like that but live in awe at those of you who can. Keep it coming and I’ll lap it up. Oops maybe I’m learning.. tee hee.. sorry.. see that’s why I don’t even go there..
My AtoZchallenge posts are about writing, parts of my novels or some research I need to do for them. I’m not allowing myself to write about anything other than topics linked to the books, my books. The current titles that I’m writing about are ‘Bags’, ‘Holiday stories’ and ‘Dream Gardener’.
