Frivolously flowery #atozchallenge

I wanted to use fun words in this challenge and frivolously flowery sound pretty frilly to me. My writing is mainly boring and staid.. Don’t let that put you off reading it, if it ever becomes available. One day I’ll finish the edits.

While I’m writing this I feel frivolous. There’s rarely a day when my house isn’t full of flowers. I am the flower shadow painter. When my patio’s not full of flowers I have to have them in my house and on my walls. They remind me of summer, of the sun’s warmth on my skin.

Although being able to have fresh flowers in the house is not a necessity, I don’t see it as a luxury. They help me look after my mental health and that’s pretty essential. You won’t find many traditional floral designs in my house but there are lots of flowers and images of flowers.

Show don’t tell.

She felt frivolously flowery.

Vs

Sitting at the kitchen table she conjured up as many flowers as she could to draw her latest designs for the fabric she’d been commissioned to do.

Lynne’s AtoZ blogging challenge theme in case you couldn’t tell:

Linked to thoughts of emotions and behaviours, my theme is ‘I feel….’. Writers among you will be familiar with the phrase show don’t tell, for others it’s what every novelist tries to do. Authors want to show you the emotion and behaviour without telling you it. Trying to practice showing not telling, I have included an example in each post. I may have got it right, I may not have. Please let me know.

Here’s who else is doing the AtoZblogging challenge.
