Laughably longing #atozchallenge

Have you ever wanted anything so much that it was laughable? Often we long for things we don’t expect to ever have and when we do they’re not always quite how we expected them. When we long for something a bit too much it can seem excessive.

Once I decide to do something I long to do it. During this challenge I realised my sketches of people were more like caricatures and that there was nothing wrong with that. I then longed to sit and draw faces constantly till I was consistent with my confidence. I needed people who wouldn’t mind and who would hopefully understand while I practiced.. Laughable.. what was I thinking when I asked an online friend if I could use their avatar to practice.

Bill

Show don’t tell.

He felt laughably longing.

After commenting on Lynne’s first ever caricature ‘Very cool sort of like the angry witch of the north meeting a horror film character and wanting to take a bite. I love it.’ she’d asked to use his avatar to practice drawing caricatures. He was now waiting for the result, not knowing she’d decided to post it for her L in the AtoZblogging challenge.

Tee hee.. the quote is real. No idea if Bill feels laughably longing but since he’s always smiling he probably does. His face is longer than I’ve drawn it.. oops..

Lynne’s AtoZ blogging challenge theme in case you couldn’t tell:

Linked to thoughts of emotions and behaviours, my theme is ‘I feel….’. Writers among you will be familiar with the phrase show don’t tell, for others it’s what every novelist tries to do. Authors want to show you the emotion and behaviour without telling you it. Trying to practice showing not telling, I have included an example in each post. I may have got it right, I may not have. Please let me know.

Here’s who else is doing the AtoZblogging challenge.
