I’ve been creating individual illustrations and describing some of these during this years AtoZ Blogging Challenge. Today is no different.
If you’ve been reading my AtoZ posts you might have noticed there are some benches I have to wait for. This is about one such bench. This bench is one which I pass more than twice a day at times, yet it’s always busy. This one day it was free, I couldn’t believe it, and was amazed that I had my sketch bag so I quickly sat and started sketching then I realised why it was free. It was freezing. Persevering, I tried to ignore the pain in my hands as I sketched. It explained why no-one had been sat on this very popular bench.
Why is this bench so popular? It’s the only one next to a supermarket and in between many shops. I can see and feel the coldness in my fingers and toes each time I see this sketch and am glad I finally managed to experience sitting and sketching from that unique perspective.
My AtoZ Blogging Challenge is all about sketches I’ve done this past year and some benches I’ve met along the way. Most but not all of the sketches were done from benches during my walk to work and around town where I shop.
If you’ve enjoyed reading this post why not see what others are doing too during 2015 AtoZ Blogging Challenge.
Not too many options like these around to encourage community play.

The Little Tigress
cold fingers do you need fingerless mittens?
I’ve got them but keep forgetting to take them with me.
Glad you persevered. Great story!
Thanks. Once you decide to sketch from every bench you start noticing those that are rarely free and the challenge is then making sure you’re prepared and around when they are.. 🙂
Nice story and a lovely sketch 🙂

Warmer Days ahead, Spring is in the air
It was 22 yesterday. Think we’re in for a little rain today.
Considering how cold your hands must have been, it’s still a very neat sketch. 🙂
Thanks. They were Icy which was my reason for using I then I forgot and didn’t include the word anywhere. Makes me shiver each time I think of sketching it.
