I need to work out how to edit the featured image. You can’t see any pigeons on the header yet that’s what it’s like. Pigeons are all around us yet often we don’t notice them. There are still some pigeons in Peterborough, not as many as I recall a few years ago but they still manage to get into most of my sketches when I’m sat on benches.
During this last year I’ve met a few pigeons and here’s my sketches of some of them.
They were definitely characters.
I’m getting more comfortable with sketching animals.
My AtoZ Blogging Challenge is all about sketches I’ve done this past year and some benches I’ve met along the way. Most but not all of the sketches were done from benches during my walk to work and around town where I shop.
If you’ve enjoyed reading this post why not see what others are doing too during 2015 AtoZ Blogging Challenge.
This is the weekend before the last full week of A to Z. You’re amazing for staying with us this long. Thanks for your commitment. You’re almost there. This event only happens once a year, so rest up and get ready for the home stretch!

Thanks Stephen. You’re the amazing one being a cohost, thanks for making this challenge so enjoyable for the rest of us.
I really love your animal sketches, you’ve got a great way of capturing their characters. You could illustrate children’s books with them. 😉
Thanks for another fab comment! I’ll give it some thought and draft some to see what happens.
I had a baby pigeon in my house once. It was an interesting experience getting him out, and cleaning up the mess he left!
I’ve had a few birds in the house but never a pigeon. I can imagine!
I have to say I have a soft spot for the pigeon – I know they are a pest most places but then if people weren’t so messy they wouldn’t be – they just like a good meal:)
True. I love the variety in their markings and the feather’s that float around the world from their down.
