You’d expect river sketches to be picturesque, cheerful and beautiful. What can I say, this is Peterborough’s river which doesn’t have much say in where it goes or how it looks..
I’ve only done a couple of river sketches so far. There’s lots of benches I’m still to sketch from but with only the odd swan coming to see what I was up to I didn’t find them the most enjoyable of views to sketch. It was a bit chilly and I’m using that as my excuse as to why these sketches look a bit bleak.
My AtoZ Blogging Challenge is all about sketches I’ve done this past year and some benches I’ve met along the way. Most but not all of the sketches were done from benches during my walk to work and around town where I shop.
If you’ve enjoyed reading this post why not see what others are doing too during 2015 AtoZ Blogging Challenge.
Hi Lynne, i love your sketches. As I have no artistic talent at all, I’m always slightly in awe of those who do. Lovely posts, Anne Stenhouse, Novels Now
Thanks Anne. I believe anyone can draw, you just need to know a few hints and tips and practice..
I admire your art! Be back again

Thanks. Will look forward to it.
What I find interesting in your sketches are the towers and buildings behind the trees. It has me wondering what they are.

the towers are the Electric pylons and I have no idea what the buildings are, there’s industry and I should know what sort..
Capturing the reflection takes some work. Enjoyable river sketches
