What does it mean, to be creative, to create? Surely everyone creates something during their lives. A home, a meal, a family sometimes. Then some of us might create by making music, singing, playing a musical instrument, writing, gardening, woodwork, knitting, making clothes, not to forget pottery, art and drawing. Some may even create most of those or have during our lives.
There’s a little plaque in my house given to me by my family which says “creative clutter is better than idle tidiness”. Anyone who enters the small house I live in seems to find that amusing. If you’ve not got space for a studio and you paint it has to go somewhere surely..
And then there’s the comments from AtoZ. I usually have everything prewritten and prescheduled. Not this year. It’s seat of pants time. Which allows me to adjust my posts accordingly depending on what people say. Thanks to those who liked my tutorial for B which has left me thinking I’ll carry on sketching vegetables.. Here’s my version of sketching cabbage and carrots.. as you do.
Cabbage and Carrots
Less than 30 minutes for the complete sketch. Yes, I’m sure it does show but I say that it doesn’t matter what it looks like or how long you have, you can always find time to practice drawing. Yes I’m talking to myself again. Last year I found out how important drawing is to me and my wellbeing then I’ve hardly drawn at all this year and am glad to have this excuse to get drawing again. Now what’s for D? Are the dandelions out? Ahh I’ve got an interesting daffodil that’s appeared in one of my pots.. Maybe? We’ll see. Tatty’s for now. Off to see what everyone else has posted.
