R’s linked to Peterborough Cathedral: Rebus; Rosetti; Relics; Robert Scarlett; Romans; Romanesque; rood screen and rules (Benedictine).
There are many arches in Peterborough cathedral and the roundness of them is what distinguishes them as Norman or Romanesque as opposed to Gothic which are more pointed at the centre top. I’m not an architect but have enjoyed learning more about building design and love including the arches into my illustrations.
Peterborough, UK, is celebrating 900 years of the current Peterborough Cathedral building which is my 2018 A-Z theme. Rather than give you lots of information which you can get from the website, books or by visiting and having a wonderful guided tour I’ve provided a list of topics and an illustration of one of them.

I visited Rome itself today, would love to see your artist’s work on some of the Roman landmarks.
