U’s linked to Peterborough Cathedral: Upstairs; Underneath; Usual and Unusual.
Lots of unusual things happen around the cathedral and sometimes my illustrations show a usual day in an unusual way which is what I’ve chosen to show you here. We’ve had some very hot days during this blog which are unusual and this reminded me of this illustration from a hot day a few years ago. It shows outside the cathedral in the cloisters one lunch time when many people were enjoying the beauty and quiet of cloisters.
Peterborough, UK, is celebrating 900 years of the current Peterborough Cathedral building which is my 2018 A-Z theme. Rather than give you lots of information which you can get from the website, books or by visiting and having a wonderful guided tour I’ve provided a list of topics and an illustration of one of them.

I like the colors you used for the tree with the hint of orange. Weekends In Maine
Thanks. I’m never sure how others will see these more unusual images.
Oh I only just found you nearing the end of the Challenge, Lynne, however I have followed you on wordpress so will see your posts regularly now. What a great idea to have illustrations. Unfortunately, that is not an area I am talented in. I’ll be visiting more and have a beautiful week. x
Ditto. We commented near each other on A2Z fb page. Illustrating has helped me enjoy ageing!
Hope you have a beautiful week too. x
Unusual is the right word for this drawing but it’s fascinating. I love the colours of the tree! Beautiful! U is for Understanding why the theme, Improve your life, Improve your mind.
Thanks Shirley. Sometimes I want to do something different and I love seeing what happens. This was one of those times.
The tree looks like it’s changing colors for fall.

You’re right Kristin, it does but my guess was that the leaves were all green. I’d have to check when I drew it. Most of the drawings have been done for the AtoZ, a few, like this one, have been retrieved from my vast collection of Peterborough illustrations I’ve done over the past few years.
Look at those birds! So many things to see in your picture. I can imagine sitting under the tree and enjoying the day.
The View from the Top of the Ladder
I love this tree 😀
