Yes #atozchallenge

I feel.. yes

I behave.. yes

Yes may not be a behaviour or a feeling but when I say it hormonal changes occur and pathways in my brain are made which generate happy feelings and behaviours.

Show don’t tell.

yes

She’ll say yes.

Lynne’s AtoZ blogging challenge theme in case you couldn’t tell:

Linked to thoughts of emotions and behaviours, my theme is ‘I feel….’. Writers among you will be familiar with the phrase show don’t tell, for others it’s what every novelist tries to do. Authors want to show you the emotion and behaviour without telling you it. Trying to practice showing not telling, I have included an example in each post. I may have got it right, I may not have. Please let me know.

Here’s who else is doing the AtoZblogging challenge.

  1. Yes denotes positivity, and that certainly helps improve one’s mood. I’m with you. On the show v. tell – good, though, to me, they are different scenes: hers is the reaction (saying yes) to his action (buying the ring.)
Great post, and my first Y of the day. Yay!

  2. From him, ‘Yes, I’ve found the perfect ring, and yes, I’m prepared to pay for it.’
From her, ‘Yes, he cares enough to have paid so much.
The remainder of the scene depends on where he elected to give her the ring and ask the question. Mmmmm. A short story could develop from that simple premise.
Nice work on the sketch too. What’s today’s tip about art? The hand is the most difficult part of the human body to replicate in virtually any medium.
